I heard that there's a lot of wild fruit in Hawaii but could I really live off of that?

If you wanna live, eat cheap, you need to have little place to prep food, ok? Now, already said, you can't live offa wild fruit, ok? But there are opportunity for young strong guy to work onna farm, like WWOOF, gotta make sure they have good place for you to live, and what they expect from you for work, but if you finda rite place, you can do ok, yeah? Watch out for local people who only wanna let you stay inna tent and clear off lot with hand labor, that not a real farm/truck garden, they just look for slave, ok? Remember, if you move hea, gotta eat like local, to eat cheap, yeah? You gonna need place to cook rice, cause that cheap way to eat, ok? Hawaiian family cook rice eva day, eat for all meals, just fix different way, ok? Bread ok, peanut butter ok, but brown rice keep longer, and mobetta for you, ok? Peanut butter cost big cause not made hea, ok? If you find little farm that produce Mac nuts, try them instead, you can trade work for nuts maybe, yeah? I,m thinking about moving to Hawaii and live in a Van for 1yr?

Maybe 3 months on each island or 6 months on 2 islands.So my guestion is can i live/sleep in a VAN in Hawaii? Which islands is best for sleeping in a Van.PS Also want to do alot of surfing.

That isn't a practical idea. Even if it isn't against local laws, sleeping in a van on several islands won't work well because there's no inexpensive way to transport a van from island to island. Buying and selling a different van on each island would be expensive, even if you buy old clunkers. It would make more sense to stay in a hostel. I've seen them priced as low as $22.50 a night, and one offers tent camping sites for $10 a night.
