Answer
Like Time Traveler said, Curry Village is the classic tent cabin location for Yosemite. That being said, it is also the most crowded (with 427 canvas tents) and furthest away from the 'real' forest--the wilderness. It is also the most convenient. Second, there's Housekeeping Camp, which offers 266 6-person concrete/canvas tents and outdoor campfire rings. Additionally, White Wolf campground offers 24 tent cabins in a much more secluded environment--they also have a small store and restuarant as well as great local hikes. Finally, Tuolumne Meadows offers 69 tent cabins that accommodate up to 4 people; however, the cabins are electricity-free.
You can visit http://www.yosemitepark.com/ACCOMMODATIONS.ASPX for more information on tent cabins, or, if you change your mind, on hotels. If you have any other questions you can contact the reservation office at (801) 559-4884 or email me. Hope this helps!

How do you do tent camping in Yosemite without getting eaten by bears?

Where do you go to exactly? Do you have make reservations even for tent camping?

Answer
It's suggested that you make reservations to Yosemite well in advance. Now that Labor Day is near, once the holiday has passed, it may be easier to rent a cabin tent or even stay at the Hotel. If you follow the directions left by the rangers to lock your provsions in the bear proof containers and not in your camp or car, you should be bear safe. Here is a link for more info.
