generator or inverter for tent camping?

noitall

Hey guys, the majority of my camping is done in tents, so im wondering will a (roughly 1300 watt) generator be too loud? should i just go with a 400 watt inverter which charges through a battery? I will only be running computer speakers, cell phone charger or laptop charger, things with fairly constant wattage. thanks!
i will NOT be camping at a site.. so please leave your comments about disturbing others elsewhere because it will only be me and my friends, thanks

Answer
You will also need to bring along a substantial battery to power the 400 watt inverter. If noise is your only concern the inverter will clearly be the preferred choice. However if you want reliable long term electricity a small generator and a gallon of gasoline will work better.

There are many small generators to choose from. The least expensive are typically the more noisy choices. Honda portable generators are expensive, but also create the least noise.

Pensacola, Florida Beach Camping?

Hey you!

Anyone know of a place in or near Pensacola, Florida where you can camp with a tent on the beach?

Answer
Yes, Ft. Pickens has tent camping available. It is on the beach. They don't supply any power and you will need to bring your own water. Make it 1 gallon/person/day. There are three loops open, A,C, &E. There are portable toilets at each loop. The cost for a campsite is $10.00 per night and campers must register at the Fort Pickens Ranger Station between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
