Can anyone recommend a good 3-person tent with super-easy setup?

Luc

My girlfriend and I are looking to do a bit of light summer camping. Neither of us is particularly good at setting up tents, and I in particular am not a fan of tangled ropes and mismatched poles.

I know I've seen automatic tents on the market - ones that require nearly no assembly and fold away with relative ease. I'm hoping somebody can recommend one that is solid and dependable. I'm happy to pay more for something that is reliable over something gimmicky.

Answer
I have never seen an automatic tent that is also completely reliable. The ones that are smaller in the 2-3 man category a kind of pop-up, you take it out of the bag and toss it out and it opens up, are not wind resistant at all leak like a sieve and don't last more than a season.

I recommend for a 2-3 man tent Coleman products. these are easy to set 2-3 pole designs that are also free standing and come with a stay dry guarantee and don't cost an arm and a leg.

Best is an opinion, often ratings are based upon them so read the reviews and compare for your needs,

My personal favorite is the REI quarter dome I have been using that for years with no issues.
