Secluded *Tent Only* camping in Colorado?

My family and I live in Colorado and want to go camping. I remember camping when I was little; it was so peaceful, serene and most of all, secluded. Does anything like this exist anymore? We want to go somewhere where there are no RV's (that's not real camping!) and its tent only camping. We also want somewhere where there will be some privacy, not where you can see everyone and their tents. However, we don't want to have to pack it in too far as we will be taking our little ones (toddler age) along on this trip. We also don't want to drive too far, maybe 2 or 3 hours at most. Are we just asking too much? What happenned to the Wild, Wild West and roughing it? Please help!

you can tent camp anywhere you want in a National Forest and Colorado has many to choose from...but since you don't want to hike very far then you risk the chance of being around others...find the closest forest below
