Weather Up North?

Q. What kind of weather should I be expecting when I go camping up north on the border of canada and usa? And what kinds of clothes should I bring?

Answer
That depends. Where are you going in Canada, and when will you be going?

If you are coming up in the next few weeks and will be camping in areas around Ontario or Quebec, you will find an abundance of black flies and mosquitoes this year that are making it less enjoyable to be "one with nature".

Personally, I would consider a fall camping/hiking trip. You can come to many of Canada's national parks and they have designated areas for camping, canoe camping, or you can even rent basic cabins equipped with stove, cots, and (sometimes) toilets.

Camping overnight in a tent in September, you would get to see the changing colours on the trees, experience warm days and cold nights. Using a three-season tent and a warm sleeping bag, and layering your clothing should be enough, depending on if you are from Florida or some other place where you are used to hot days and slightly cool nights.

What should we do about vacation?

Well, I've been with my guy for about two years now, and we wanna go away somewhere, but don't have enough money (we're both gonna graduate college soon, but need to pay for rent, loans, etc.) and it sucks because our other friends get to go because their parents pay for their vacation...

It's hard to save money with expenses, what can we do?

Answer
My boyfriend and I are in the same situation right now. One thing you can do is go camping somewhere really beautiful. I dont know where you a are from but Im from Canada and we are going to go camping in Quebec on a beautiful provincial park. Look at Ontario provincial parks... they are very nice too. You can go kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hikeing... and just hang out by the camp fire. I dont know if you like the great outdoors but if you do its alot of fun and very cheap... if you dont like tents u can find some pretty nice little cottages between 5 and 6 hundred a week.
