Has anyone here ridden the Alaska highway?

Q. I drove it years back in a motorhome, had a terrific time. Now my sons and I are toying with the the idea of riding it next summer, perhpas carrying a small tent and camping gear. Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas? Thanks.

Take a lot of mosquito repellent. Take your time and enjoy the trip. Should be a roadhouse every 25-50 miles or so by now.
I've driven the road 4 times. Enjoyed every trip.

if you are travelling abroad say to Ireland, do you have to pay extra to have a tent in hand luggage?

there is no way you can take a tent or camping gear in your carry on. simply will not fit/meet the size restrictions.

it will have to be checked, and it if exceeds the weight allowance per person, you will pay the fees.
