What kind of things could we do for the camp out? What kind of snacks could I serve?

Answer
Hot dogs on skewers,(make sure the ends are not sharp), s'mores, monster cookies, chips, marshmallows anything else that you would eat on a camp out. You could set up a mini indoor tent, we have one w/ a tee pee and two tunnels that kids climb thru. Get a cheap plastic set of fishing poles and pretend to fish. Lay out sleeping bags, tell bedtime stories. You are only limited by your imagination. Good luck and have fun!!

What kind of routine do you have for your toddlers at home?

I have 4 children in school and 2 toddlers at home. Just looking for some fresh ideas. Do you have a special routine or daily plan? Thanks

Answer
My son is 3 and in pre-school, so on his days off we try to do a school day at home. Not the exact schedule but somewhat close.
6:50am get up
7:30am computer time
8:00am breakfast and free time
9:00am story time(usually 2 books)
9:30am talk about the weather what month, day, year for this it is helpful to make your own calendar with pictures with tape on the back of them so your child can put what day it is and what the weather is. They love to do this and its cheap cause you make everything yourself.
10:00am counting and letters
10:20am snack and centers I set up different activities coloring pages, painting, water table, sometimes we do bath time and use crayola bath stuff to decorate the walls and draw things letters write his name, games (hungry hungry hippos is great), computer time, books with cds, the possibilities are endless.
11:20am gross motor. If its nice we go outside bug hunting, walking, in the summer swimming, in the winter we will once in a while play in the snow for 15 or 20 min., usually if its cold we dance to music, make an obstacle course, go camping in the blanket tent (2chairs and a blanket), we stretch and try to jump to the sky.
12:00pm calm down. watch tv show and read a book
12:30pm lunch
1:00pm nap
2:30pm get up
3:00pm daddy's home time for snack
3:45pm daddy play time (mom's tired needs a break)
5:15pm dinner
6:15pm family time(very important)
8:30pm after a day like that they are usually ready for bed.
You probably didn't want a schedule but I thought it might help. Your day probably wouldn't have to be so structured, mine has to because my 3 yr. is autistic and my 1 yr old doesn't make it easy if you don't stick to the plan. 1yr.old usually takes a nap during gross motor time. Hope I helped!
