best tent camping in colorado image

Me and my boyfriend are going to Colorado July 13-18th. We've googled good camp sites and fishing site, but no luck. We would like to have a camp site with mountain view and close to a river or lake to go fishing, since this is one on the main reasons of going to Colorado. Thanks for any suggestions!
Answer
Near Aspen, I think the best place to go as far as mountain scenery is the Maroon Bells. Although there is a lake there and a river/stream, I have only occasionally seen people fishing there so I'm not sure what the fishing is like. But the scenery is spectacular and can't be beat, in my opinion :-).

Jay
I want thee old fashion sleepin in a tent type of camping, no campers!
Answer
your in luck Jay, you can camp on public land in Colorado for as long as you would like. no campground needed.
I have a friend who lived in a tiipii for 1/2 a year, because it was cheaper then a house. just make sure you have all your permits and have at it.
Water is a hot commodity in Colorado so find a spot near a spring. 1/3 of all the land is open to the public in Colorado so it easy to find a spot. you mite try:
Big Blue in: Uncompahgre National Forest
Elk Creek in: Rio Grande National Forest
Longs Peak in: Rocky Mountain National Park
