We want to take our kids who have never camped somewhere family oriented. My husband and I both grew up tent camping.

We live in the Missouri Ozarks and have 5 children ages 9, 11, 12, and two 14 year olds. Our favorite place to take our family is Alley Springs campground on the Jacks Fork river. It is about 6 miles west of Eminence. It offers plenty of sites, some with electric, hot showers, flat level sites with paved roads for bike riding, and a good swimming hole. About 1/2 mile away is the Alley Springs Mill and spring with two hiking trails, one that goes around the spring area, and then a more difficult one that goes up to a lookout that is above the spring. It is a beautiful place. Hope this helps!

Where is the safest place to sleep in Charleston SC if your homeless?

Out on Tuesday and Crisis Ministries is dreadful and Churches don't offer assistance so I am wondering where the safest place for a woman to sleep is??
Also a really inexpensive campground that allows tent camping??
And you don't have A CAR!

Answer
I live in the Charleston area.

If you have been the victim of domestic abuse, contact My Sister's House. It is a shelter for battered women/children. They have a hotline, they do not disclose their location so you would have to contact them and they would arrange a meeting place.

I am sure that Lake Aire campground, south of Charleston but still within the county limits, allows tent camping. There is also a campground called Oak Plantation just a little north of Lake Aire- on 17 near Main Road (at John's Island). I am not sure if they allow tent camping or not, but worth a call. There is a KOA campground in Ladson.

If you contact a church, they are likely to help you. Do you have a church? Be humble.

You might also contact a police officer. If you explain your circumstances, they may be able to find resources for you. Also try Trident United Way.
