I am considering taking a group of friends to the June race at MIS. We won't be able to get there until Friday afternoon? Will there still be available spots? We are looking into tent camping. Any other recommendations on camping here would be appreciated.

Answer
Camping at and around MIS is awesome, it's a bit crazy to so be ready for it. I am not sure if you will still get anything but if you wait till the Friday before I can just about guarantee you will not get any campsites. You should start calling campgrounds now to see if you can get anything. Here is a link to the camping around MIS. If you can try to get into the Brooklyn Trails Campground that is the nicest of the bunch and only about 1/2 mile from MIS, they have a store & nice hot showers and it's a relatively clean place.

Good luck and have fun!

Group of college students looking for a suitable campsite around West Michigan?

Fishowner

I am planning a camping trip for this July with a group of college students. I have looked at a number of campgrounds, but I have yet to find a perfect one for us.
Our main concern is camp wide quiet times, as most campsites seem to have mandatory quiet times starting at 10pm. We can be quite a boisterous bunch, but we donât like disturbing other people. We are looking to tent camp, but the girls in the group are demanding hot showers. Alcohol is a non-factor, as none of us are heavy drinkers, so it is not a priority.

TL;DR Group of college students looking for camp site with showers where we can be loud into the night. Rules permitting alcohol are not necessary, as all of us either drink only occasionally, or not at all.

Thank you in advance for any input and/or advice.

Answer
Any developed campground is going to have a quite period so get used to that rule now it's part of growing up. Rent a cabin and stay inside you will be able to make noise all night.
