Where can we go for some fun waterfront tent camping in Southern California?

Ocean or lake, although ocea is way better :) I have already checked out Doheny and they're booked up through October!
Answer
It's gonna be that way for any reservable water front camping in southern california. There are a few places that are close to water with in about 10 miles that are first come first served and a few first come first severed sites on some creeks and rivers. Look up the national forests we have and check the campground listings for these. A couple of my favorites are South fork on the Santa ana river and Sandy Flat on the Kern river
