Me and some friends want to go camping as well as do some hiking and exploring in Colorado. We're looking for something with lots of awesome sights and good hiking. Denver is also on our list to visit so probably not too far from Denver as well.

What places are a 4 day bike ride away from merced california?

Alright me and my two brothers wish to take a 4 day bike ride somewhere. Why four days? Why not xD. You see this is the last summer before I graduate and one of my brothers turns 18(the other one already is) I don't really care the place just somewhere that is a 4 day bike ride away from merced because its not the destination thats important but the journey and I want us to enjoy the memories. Were still planning everything but we need a destination xD
I myself have done about 10 miles in a day and my friend about the same. Were currently building our stamina and hopefully by the time we take this trip will be able to do 40-60 miles in a day or so without taking to many breaks. We want this trip to last either 4 or 8 days depending on how well we can convince our parents. As for way of staying were planning on camping out were currently looking at the prices of tents and stuff. Finally I believe our bikes though not the most expensive or best built can take this on. I hope this helps give you guys give me some good answers

Use Google maps. http://maps.google.com/ But first figure out how far you're capable of cycling in a day. What's the furthest you've been in a day so far? My bet is - it's 20 miles or less. You should be able to do 45 - 50 miles in a day if you want to really cover some ground. Takes training - lots of training.

Now...sleeping in motels or going camping? Motels? Take the American Express Card. Camping? Do you have the right type of bicycle to handle the extra burden of a tent, sleeping bag, extra clothes & other necessities? You'll need a "touring road bike". They start around a grand - $1,000.
